Able to turn off the screen?

Used the app today on a short road trip. Overall it worked pretty well but one issue I saw was if I turned off the screen the “reading” would stop at the end of the page. Is this perhaps a limitation of Android OS or something else? Hoping to see this fixed. Thanks
